Embrace the Adult-Only Atmosphere
Virgin Voyages caters exclusively to adults, creating a sophisticated and vibrant atmosphere for guests seeking relaxation and adventure without the distractions of kiddos and allowing you to act like one yourself! Here are some of the activities that will make you forget all about “adulting”:
🕹️Free arcade! Play all the best arcade games from the 80’s and 90’s like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Double Dragon and Sunset Riders, then battle it out in Air Hockey.
🍨Have a daily treat at “Lick me 'til Ice Cream” 😉 and enjoy a new flavor option daily.
🏓Take part in Adult Dodgeball or take the 90’s Shake Weight Workout or Boy bands Dance Class.
🧩Partake in the daily trivia, pub crawls and board games available like Mall Madness, Life and Clue!
🎭Enjoy a little nightly/naughty fun and partake in “It’s a Ship Show,” “Miss Behave,” or Story time with the Diva.
Indulge in Elevated Dining Experiences
One of the highlights of any Virgin Voyages cruise is the exceptional dining options available onboard. From gourmet restaurants curated by Michelin-starred chefs to casual eateries serving up mouthwatering fare, there's something to satisfy every palate. Just say NO to buffets and dining halls and indulge in these Instagram worthy eateries that make you feel like you are in a hip city strip, not a cruise ship.
🌟Travel More Tip:
With Virgin, everything is managed through your phone app. You can book dinner reservations far in advance and I recommend booking brunches for Sea Days as soon as you can. There are options at The Wake (more fancy) and Razzle dazzle (more fun!) There are bottomless mimosa options at each for only $25 per person that you do not want to miss! Other favorites include:
Gun Bae: a social dining setting - 6 to a table and drinking games are a part of it! Get to know your ship mates, get a little loud, laugh and enjoy some Korean BBQ.
The Galley: Another easy and quick option with 12 a-la-carte eateries serving up anything you can dream up.
The Pizza Place 🍕: open late night and always a great snack to bring to the room.
Ship Eats: Virgin's version of a delivery/room service option, but you do not have to be “in your room”... they will deliver it to wherever you happen to be on the boat! 😊 Same goes for the 🍾Shake for Champagne, which is a very fun thing to do at least once to experience chilled Moet at your beck and call.
Plan for the Parties
With Virgin Voyages, the journey is just as thrilling as the destination. There are theme nights on board, so be sure to check your itinerary in advance. You can guarantee there will be “Scarlet night” where everything on the ship (even the lights!) turn RED! So bring your best and brightest red outfits to participate in the fun. The party is usually by the pool so don’t be surprised if people start jumping in with their clothes on as the night progresses!! 🤣
There is always a Red PJ Party the first night after Sail Away and other “dress up” events include things like “We Fancy” and "Disco Night / Studio 72!"
🌟Update: New entertainment for 2025 includes Klub Rubiks: Not your Average 80s Party and Club Caliente (Valiant Lady) bringing Latin beats and high-energy dancing.
If you are a solo traveler, do not feel deserted. Virgin has some of the best get togethers on board for your "party of one" that allow you to meet new people and have a blast on your own, including an Ice Breaker Meetup and Pub Crawl.
They also have a limited number of solo cabins on every ship that are pretty sweet.

Book a Sea Terrace aka Balcony
Virgin staterooms are not like other staterooms. They are a chic and modern mix of sanctuaries and suites that provide the perfect retreat after a day of exploration.
The technology in the room is state of the art, with a tablet controlling the lights, ambiance, mood, drapes and TV. There are awesome selections for on-demand entertainment that I can tell are geared towards adults in the 30-60 age range (we watched 10 Things I Hate About You, Jerry Maguire… I mean come on!!) 🙂
Definitely book a Sea Terrace option so that you can sit, swing and sway in the trademarked Red Hammock on your personal balcony! Beware, once you book a balcony, you can never go back. 💁
🌟Travel More Tip:
We recently stayed in a “Limited View Sea Terrace” as it was a great deal at a lock in rate. I would 100% do it again, as the space was exactly the same, you just had a partial lifeboat view from the balcony … So what? At that discount, I’ll book this every time!
Party like a Rockstar
Claim your Rockstar status and upgrade to any of the many suite options for even larger vistas, lounge chairs, and hot tubs - not to mention SUITES. But for common areas, all Rockstars have access to “Richard’s Rooftop” an exclusive area of the ship for suite stayers only. I will be planning ahead and booking a suite for one of our upcoming voyages. Most likely the “Seriously suite” or “Cheeky Corner."
Take Advantage of Onboard Entertainment and Activities
From sunrise to sunset, Virgin Voyages offers a plethora of entertainment options to suit every taste. Start your day with a rejuvenating yoga class on Deck 17 “The Perch”: As a yoga teacher myself, this is a daily MUST.
🌟Travel More Tip:
You have to sign up for the fitness classes in advance on the Virgin app, and most will likely show “SOLD OUT” - WHAT!???? — Go Anyway. Most of the time people book the classes up for the week, and then often do not show up. The instructor will let you in if there is space. (Be aware, you will be charged to “donate” $10 to a Virgin charity if you do not show, so there is a small penalty for just loading up the schedule).
Indulge in a spa treatment at the onboard Redemption Spa. The spa circuit includes a steam room, dry sauna, salt room (Hammam), and a Mud Room!!! This was a fun addition and we utilized the spa on a rainy sea day. There are small, circular hot tubs located sporadically on the upper decks, so we jumped in one and soaked up the post rain sun.
There are daily and nightly live music performances, DJs at the pools all day and in the main lobby bar area, there is a Casino on board (which I won $100 on a Buffalo Gold slot! woohoo), and nightly parties at the Manor that go until LATE for those night owls.
