Virgin Voyages Pricing Changes 2025: What You Need to Know
Oct 7

What Changed on October 7, 2025?
Virgin Voyages officially launched a new three-tier pricing model on October 7, 2025, for all Sea Terrace cabins and below. This new system is called Voyage Fair Choices and is designed to give Sailors more control, clarity, and flexibility when booking their cruise.
Gone are the days of a single price that bundled everything. Instead, Virgin is now presenting pricing more like traditional cruise lines, where you can choose your perks or opt-out for a better rate.
Key takeaway: Taxes, tips, and WiFi are no longer automatically included in all pricing levels. But you can still opt into those perks by selecting a higher fare tier.
Virgin Voyages Pricing Changes 2025: Fare Options Explained

1. Base Fare
Virgin's most budget-friendly rate
No changes allowed once booked
WiFi, tips, and taxes/fees are NOT included upfront (added later in checkout)
Ideal for: confident planners, lowest-price seekers
2. Essential Fare (Most similar to past pricing)
Includes WiFi, tips, and taxes
Slight flexibility: Can change Sailors 2–4 (but not the lead guest)
One device WiFi per Sailor included (Classic tier)
Ideal for: most cruisers who want the same experience as before
3. Premium Fare
Includes all Essential perks, plus full flexibility
You can change the lead Sailor and dates
Premium WiFi tier included (up to 2 devices per Sailor)
Ideal for: those who want full control, cancellations, and top perks
Pro tip: You’ll still see the full total during checkout—but now you can understand exactly what’s included.
WiFi Changes: New Tiers

Virgin has also introduced WiFi tiers, so Sailors can choose what fits their online needs. Here's a quick breakdown:
Tier | Included With | Great For | Devices |
Basic | Base Fare | Messaging, browsing | 1 per Sailor |
Classic | Essential Fare | Social media, audio calls | 1 per Sailor |
Premium | Premium Fare | Streaming, Zoom, video calls | 2 per Sailor |
Work From Sea | Mega RockStar Quarters | Fastest connection, VPN | 2 per Sailor |
You can always upgrade your WiFi level onboard or pre-voyage.
Why Virgin Made This Change
Virgin Voyages Pricing Changes 2025 came with purpose:
Compete with other cruise lines on price visibility
Let Sailors compare apples to apples when browsing cruise deals
Provide more options for both budget-conscious travelers and those seeking premium flexibility
My Take as a Travel Advisor and Gold-Tier First Mate

Honestly? I think this move is smart.
For the first time, Virgin’s pricing looks competitive against big names like Royal Caribbean or Celebrity when people browse online. The flexibility lets you control what matters most—whether that’s saving money or maximizing your experience.
You can still get an amazing deal if you book early or wait for big promos (like year-end sales or Wave Season in January).
Tip: I'm seeing many clients opt for Essential Fare, which mimics the older model most are used to.
